HSIA Special Notice re: COVID 19 resources

The HSIA board is reaching out to see if any Hillsmere Shores residents may need assistance during these challenging times due to COVID-19. Each day continues to bring new challenges for the foreseeable future. If you or a neighbor that you know of needs some type of assistance, please notify us at [email protected] The elderly may need some help getting normal staples from the grocery store, or just some household items. School closures are creating daily challenges. Others are clearly impacted due to a cutback in work hours or lower income as a result of closures. As we continue to move forward, please check on your neighbors, a simple phone call or email can go a long way to see how they are doing and what assistance they may need. If you are interested in providing some type of assistance for the community, please email us at [email protected] and we will add you to a master help list.We have provided some key resource links below. HSIA Special Notice re: Beach Playground

Until further notice, the Hillsmere Shores Beach playground equipment is closed. While the Beach itself will remain open for exercise activities only (passing through while walking, running, biking, etc.). Port-a-potties will be removed from the beach and marina. Please remember to social distance yourself from others. We are following the County’s guidelines that state “Regional Parks will remain open for exercise activities ONLY. (jogging, walking, biking, hiking). However, visitor centers, playgrounds and restrooms are CLOSED. No picnics or gathering will be permitted.”

HSIA Special Notice re: Key School campus closure

Dear Neighbors,

Key School is officially closed until March 30. While there is a small, core group of Key staff who will be on campus periodically to manage infrastructure needs, we do consider Key’s campus closed to all and we are not permitting any group gatherings on our fields and playgrounds.

While healthy children appear to be at less risk with COVID-19, evidence does suggest they are active carriers of the virus, therefore we are asking families to refrain from using the playground equipment on campus as this could quickly spread germs from household to household.

We must all do our part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and we appreciate your help in dissuading misuse of Key’s properties.

Many thanks for your support and I hope you all stay healthy!

Regards,
Irfan Latimer
