MARINA CLEANUP!– SATURDAY 9/29 10AM to NOON

LET’S TRY THIS AGAIN!

The continuing flow of Conowingo Dam debris has hit Duvall Creek and the Hillsmere Marina again. We have already hauled out and accumulated lots of debris.

Please come out Saturday morning, September 29, from 10 a.m. to noon and help clean up the larger chunks of debris that have washed onto the Marina rip-rap and grass, and into the Marina. The goal is to remove larger pieces of debris and plastic from the area. HSIA has hired a firm to remove the debris to either the County landfill or a to-be-provided County dumpster. We need to haul debris off the rip-rap and grass, and out of the Marina waters, and stack it in multiple piles at the edge of the gravel roadway.

Please bring boat hooks, heavy rakes, and GLOVES! Yard Waste bags may help, too!
