If you have always had an interest in learning more about the night sky, the Hillsmere Stargazers Club might be the place
!
The Club meets monthly, usually on the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings are held at the Eastport-Annapolis Library, with socializing and light refreshments at 6:00 p.m., followed by the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Club membership is free.
Presentations are designed for non-technical audiences and cover astronomy topics from night-sky basics to the latest NASA developments. The Club is fortunate to feature guest speakers from Hillsmere and the broader Washington/Baltimore area.
Along with monthly presentations, the Club hosts informal stargazing events where members with telescopes invite others to observe the night sky from nearby locations. The Club also occasionally organizes visits to local venues, such as planetariums and other astronomy-related sites.
